Turn on the Dremel and get your dog familiar with the object. With your dog relaxed and in a comfortable position where you can clearly see their nail and paw, hold a paw firmly with your non-dominant hand. Predetermine where you would like to file the nail to. Press gently on the toe to separate it and make the nail stand out. Switch the tool on; the low setting is best for maintaining short nails, while the high setting is for use on long nails to expedite the process. Hold the tool at a 45-degree angle to follow your dog's natural nail shape. Don’t press the nail down too hard; let the tool do the work for you.
